About Us
Principal architect Marcus Schott has been in the building industry for 40 years. Starting as a carpenter in the 1980s to working for award-winning architecture firms in Seattle in the 90s to founding his own firm in Sonoma County in 2000. This varied work experience combined with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in architecture provide a broad perspective for approaching each project in a sensitive and creative manner.
Working in the owners preferred architectural style, we emphasize the indoor-outdoor relationship to create a meaningful connection to the site. Ample daylight modulated for thermal comfort, intuitive layout, inspiring room volumes and comfortable materials help to create a sense of place. Thorough detailing ensures healthy indoor air quality and longevity, which are important elements of sustainability.
We help you manage your project as much or as little as you wish with site analysis, feasibility studies, expert navigation of the regulatory maze, local zoning compliance, infrastructure requirements, fire safety issues, choosing and working with contractors, and cradle-to-cradle materials selection.
Listening carefully to the owners’ wishes and parameters informs every aspect of our process, and seeing their vision come to life and the joy it inspires is the most rewarding part of our work.
